Brambles... Mt inspiration for an on going project. I am looking at nature and how some elements are often neglected in the art world. Brambles are one example of this - often unseen in art and textiles but they give us so much in other ways. i.e. medicine, food, dyes.

 

 

This is Tilly my five year old Horsfield tortoise. A once favourable pet (many of our parents will remember having one when they were younger) is now only available from specialist exotic pet shops. Like the foliage and plants featured in my project, the tortoise is also rather unpopular and seldom seen in art with artists opting for the turtle instead.
